Quarry Blasting

Quarry Blasting connects the destructive and the creative as an influential, symbolic spark constituting a momentary experience of freedom. Observing these events of rupture and release is not merely spectacle, but becomes an instinctual experience that inherently holds the tension between breakdowns and transformations. It is within this tension that I engage with the theory of positive disintegration – a philosophy that sees disintegration not as the end, but as an essential process for something greater to transpire.

Through the lens of positive disintegration, I support the viewpoint that breakdowns, while maybe painful, are often productive grounds for personal or societal transformation.  In this way of thinking, my work invites the audience to reflect on how moments of disarray or loss can be converted into opportunities for freedom, growth, and reinvention.

With many thanks to Andrew Collen, Martin Lennox and the lads for making this project possible.
